Mission
IDClinician.com™ is an independently funded forum committed to improving clinician access to high quality education about infectious disease states and their differential diagnoses, treatments and evidence-based management. IDClinician.com™ provides clinicians with an opportunity to share their insights and experience managing patients with debilitating infectious diseases. By consolidating resources already available and generating new educational materials tailored to the needs of the community—all identified through ongoing surveys posted throughout the site—this forum will, we believe, facilitate the exchange of ideas, help clinicians practice the art and science of infectious disease medicine, and ultimately improve patient care. Infectious disease specialists, primary care physicians, hospitalists, emergency room clinicians, surgeons, pharmacists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, and the countless other healthcare providers who treat infectious diseases are all invited to participate in this global community.
Vision
Clinicians who treat infectious diseases must overcome numerous barriers to provide optimal care for their patients. Despite significant advances made over the past twenty years, infectious disease medicine remains a young discipline, shaped more by the vast experience of its practitioners than evidence generated from randomized controlled studies, of which there have been too few. Recognizing the untapped resource of collective experience, IDClinician.com™ is dedicated to gathering, synthesizing, and disseminating insights into infectious disease medicine generated by our colleagues in primary care offices, emergency rooms and clinics across the country. Our preferred medium for this exchange of best practices is facilitated by modern day technology, yet its substance remains the ancient heritage of good medicine.
